Kilian is a space systems engineer with experience in system and mission development, verification and validation, and mission analysis. Before joining Φ-lab, he worked at ESA on the IRIDE Earth observation programme, where he was responsible for in-orbit commissioning and end-to-end performance verification.
Kilian previously spent more than a decade at Airbus Defence and Space, working on Earth observation, satellite navigation, planetary defence, and exploration projects. His work included systems engineering roles on Galileo Second Generation, Copernicus Earth observation missions, asteroid impactor missions, and Lunar Polar Sample Return.
He holds a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Munich, with a specialization in astronautics and systems engineering. He has worked and studied across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.
