Unleash Your Creativity: Crafting the Future of Earth Observation (EO)
Φ-lab is an open innovation lab offering many collaborative options for people at different career stages. These efforts include internships, the Youth Graduate Traineeship (YGT) Programme, working with scientific or industry Visiting Researchers, co-funded PhDs, Postdoctoral Research fellows, Visiting Professors and other interested individuals. Collaborations range from a few weeks to two years.
A stimulating, multinational, and interdisciplinary open work environment
Access to high-performance computing infrastructure and unparalleled EO and technology expertise
A unique opportunity to work on innovative solutions to address global challenges
A wide network of partnerships with top academia, industry and research centres
ESA’s Postdoctoral Research Fellowships offer scientists and engineers the possibility of staying in the lab for two years, to explore case studies that match Φ-lab’s interests.
ESA’s YGT Programme is aimed at Master’s degree graduates who want to work with us for one year, to gain valuable experience in cutting-edge EO activities. We also offer internships.
We host representatives from industry or academia who submit proposals to work with us on their innovative case studies. They are granted access to ESA EO’s vast experience, together with our computing resources and facilities. Visiting Researchers usually stay with us for four weeks (for a full immersion) and up to two years (for a more strategic partnership). Visiting Researchers are part of the ESA Φ-lab Collaborative Innovation Network, aiming to establish a global network where researchers and innovators can collaborate with each other and with ESA, sharing knowledge and developing groundbreaking EO solutions. Please write to us if you want to know more.
Visiting Professors help Φ-lab set the research agenda and identify the most scientifically valuable problems and methodologies. We benefit from the participation of more than 10 globally acknowledged leading academics and we are always open to broadening this team. Visiting Professors are part of the ESA Φ-lab Collaborative Innovation Network, aiming to establish a global network where researchers and innovators can collaborate with each other and with ESA, sharing knowledge and developing groundbreaking EO solutions.
